Newcomers at Le Domaine
While many are trying to enjoy the last warm days of September, our team already dreams of snow. In the garage, our team is currently preparing the ground for snowmaking and tubing slopes. To help them with this task, they took delivery this week of five new, next-generation snow cannons.
In previous years, the technology allowed for snowmaking only when the outside temperature reached around -5°C. With these new cannons, Le Domaine will now be able to produce snow between -1°C and -2°C.
Working with Mother Nature
When we don’t have control over the elements, we must adapt.
Three degrees can be the deciding factor in the length of a snow tubing season. If conditions aren’t right for snowmaking, it can delay the start of the season by several days, or even weeks.
Le Domaine has long opted for a gradual snowmaking system on its slopes, starting the season with the Tube Slope. Snowmaking then continues so that all 90 slides and 5 types of snow rides, iconic features of our tubing centre, are open to the public as soon as possible. With these five new snow cannons, Le Domaine anticipates faster, more complete snowmaking than in previous seasons.
